Despite the first date going well, in his opinion at least, Xander's still wearing the same dark and tired expression. He doesn't even flinch at the sudden and somewhat chaotic arrival of suitor number two. Calloused fingers brush a strand of red hair behind his ear. The best smile he can muster spread his lips.[break][break]

"Yeah, that's right." dry, sounding almost exhausted.[break][break]

Another game of questions, huh? She led off with one that didn't take much thought to answer. "Volcarona." the name leaves emotion, "I died in a snowstorm when I was ten, and one brought me back. I've had a special connection with them ever since." to speak of death so casually, what a way to kill the mood.[break][break]

She nodded, eyeing her date. He didn’t really look all to put together. Then again it wasn’t like she did any better when she left for the grocery store on the weekends. If it wasn’t work, she couldn’t be bothered to set up her make up or pick a cohesive outfit. The morbid answer pulled her back to the conversation. “You died.” She echoed, giving Xander a once over. She supposed cardiac arrest for long enough and then come back to happen to anyone. Even kids. [break][break]

Aside from the statement meant more to help her process the information, she didn’t seem all too bothered by his reply. “Sounds fortunate.” She said offering a polite smile. Holt buzzed near her, grinning a little too hard for her liking. Clearly, he was the best one, right? Right?! She waved him off. “Holt is a great companion during work and off of it. But I think if I had to pick a favorite, I really like Bewear.” The Rotom gasped at this betrayal, and she flashed them an even sweet smile, just about laughing at the dramatics. “Fairy types are…by and by rather cute.” Some would say, even a little mysterious. “How did you end up in a snowstorm?” she asked, turning back her attention to her date.

Is the fact she doesn't seem to care a good or bad thing? Xander's not sure. He shrugs it off, settling on it not mattering. "It was." he nodded along to her answer, then shifted. [break][break]

Should have expected her to ask why he'd been in the snowstorm. He sighed, "My parents are archaeologists. Traveled around a lot as kid because of it. We were heading to a ruin in Sinnoh when the storm hit." the rest of the details aren't needed. [break][break]

"Ever been to Sinnoh?"

She nodded, her curiosity piqued a little. She liekd well traveled people, having been stuck in Kanto far longer than she needed to be and now Hoenn. Though, perhaps she was in a better position to visit elsewhere to break up the monotony. Ironic, coming from a homebody who stayed indoors more often than not. "Well, aside form the snowstorm, that sounds like a lot of fun." she said. [break][break]

"I haven't. Unfortuantely, I didn't travel much until recently." she said before adding, "Would you reccomend it?" As she said this she grabbed as her small purse, sticking in her fingers to check for a moment before looking back at Xander. "Are you tired by the way? I have some caffeine pills I can spare." She flashed the incomplete foil before popping one out herself and dry swallowing it.

"It could be fun, yeah. But all that traveling, even with your family, can get kind of lonely." Never sticking to one place for more than a month or two at most. Unable to form meaningful connections because they'd be gone when you left. [break][break]

@idris and Yvette Belmont may have handled it well. But they had each other, their work. Xander only had @kiara, and his sister could only do so much. [break][break]

"I would, yeah. There are some pretty amazing things out there. Sights everyone should see at least once in their life." [break][break]

Xander shook his head at the caffeine pills. "It's that noticeable, huh?" he shouldn't be surprised, not like he was trying to hide his tiredness.
